Benjamin C. Lee is a professor of electrical and systems engineering and of computer and information science at the University of Pennsylvania. He is an affiliated faculty member at the Penn Research in Embedded Computing and Integrated Systems Engineering (PRECISE) Center. His research focuses on building interdisciplinary links to machine learning and algorithmic game theory to better design and manage computer systems related to energy efficiency, environmental sustainability and security. His work has been recognized by IEEE Micro Top Picks, Communications of the ACM Research Highlights, as well as received publication honors from the ASPLOS, HPCA, MICRO, and SC conferences.

Prior to joining Penn, Lee was a professor at Duke. He has a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley, a Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard, and completed his postdoctoral studies in electrical engineering at Stanford. He has held visiting positions at Meta AI, Meta AI, Microsoft Research, Intel Labs, and Lawrence Livermore National Lab. An IEEE Fellow and ACM Distinguished Scientist, Lee is also a past recipient of the NSF Computing Innovation Fellowship, NSF CAREER Award, and Google Faculty Research Award.
