PRECISE 16 Years & Beyond: Integrating AI for Next-Generation Cyber-Physical Systems
The Penn Research in Embedded Computing and Integrated Systems Engineering (PRECISE) Center at the University of Pennsylvania is leading a new era in computing. For 16 years, our mission has transcended boundaries, resulting in the engineering of intelligent and autonomous systems that are both robust and reliable. By pioneering advanced techniques, we enhance design and development productivity, improve software performance, and strengthen security.
Our research and methods, inspired by the complexities of human intelligence, pave the way for sophisticated and adaptive technological solutions. Since 2008, the PRECISE Center has become a beacon of excellence, uniting leading minds in electrical systems engineering and computer science from both industry and academia. This powerful alliance fuels technological breakthroughs, expands the frontier of capabilities, and shares invaluable insights into the symbiosis between machines and their computing ecosystems.
Our research is anchored in three primary pillars: System Modeling and Verification, Machine Learning, and the Internet of Medical Things. By focusing on these areas, PRECISE researchers are curating a diverse collection of foundational AI recipes that lead to practical and impactful solutions, utilizing modeling, control, simulation, operation, formal methods, and the implementation of embedded and cyber-physical systems. Our research and methodologies pave the way for the future of sophisticated computing, encompassing hardware and chips, software and applications, and hyperscale data centers.
As we look beyond our 16th year, PRECISE will lead the way in innovation and shaping the future of next-generation systems that integrate AI.
